Truth be told: Why are nannies worse than babysitters?

babysitter

Are you team babysitter or team nanny? Do you know what the difference is between the two? Basically, they are both the same profession the only difference being that sometimes a "nanny" lives in. Both a babysitter and a nanny care for your child, a babysitter can perform her duties in your home or in her own home while a nanny usually comes to the child's home to care for them. For some reason, when we hear the term "nanny" our reaction is completely different than when we hear "babysitter."

Truth be told: Moms need to remember they were young once too

sunbathers

In Stuyvesant Town's playgrounds in New York City, young sunbathing co-eds are outraging local soccer moms and, according to parents, offending the delicate sensibilities of their wee little ones. The weather is heating up and girls just want to get some sun. What are these moms afraid is going to happen? A child is going to see a little side boob and want to eat?

I'm a mom of little girls and I consider myself to be conservative in what I let them see and watch. I try to keep life PG-rated and age-appropriate, but I know that life is life and, as parents we cannot censor everything our kids are exposed to. Our best solution is to raise our children with good moral values and an open mind. We teach by example and there are some things that are just not worth getting all up in arms about, like sunbathing co-eds at the local playground.

Hilarious 'Reasons My Son is Crying' Tumblr perfectly captures the challenges every toddler faces (PHOTOS)

As every mom and dad knows, toddlers cry…a lot. It's all part of the rollercoaster known as parenthood. The Tumblr features a series of photographs of Pembroke's 20-month-old so Charlie crying, with funny captions underneath explaining why. As can be seen below, the things that can send little Charlie into a tailspin include everything from food to toys to (of course) the dreaded carseat!

Mom buys $6.5 million apartment for 2-year-old, officially goes off deep end

What kind of gifts did you get when you where a 2-year-old? Toys, stuffed animals, clothes? Did you ever get a $6.5 million dollar apartment in a high-rise in New York City? No? A New York real estate agent revealed that a Chinese mother bought her 2-year-old daughter a condominium in the Manhattan luxury high-rise, One57. The building wasn't even finished (and still is not) at the time of purchase.

Kevin Brown, a senior vice president at Sotheby's International, showed the buyer apartments all over Manhattan. The woman ended up buying a unit in the 90-story building, designed by a Pritzker Prize–winning architect. Not too shabby at all.

3 Yummy and no-salt snacks for your toddler

A number of recent studies have further proven the pervasiveness--and subsequent danger--of sodium levels in the American diet, even for toddlers. It's not news that many busy Americans rely on pre-packaged convenience foods to feed their hunger on a regular basis, and it's definitely not a surprise that most of these foods are far from nutritional superstars, but it probably is a bit of shocker for most parents that foods manufactured just for babies and toddlers may actually be doing them more harm than good. Find out why and discover how to make three easy, nutritious snacks for the littlest members of your family.

2-year-old girl was tied up by daycare teacher & you won't believe why!

You wouldn't believe my rage when I found out about the case of a teacher that allegedly tied tied the wrists and ankles of a 2-year-old girl because she didn't want to nap! I immediately thought of my son, Santiago, who is 3 and a half years old. My little guy stopped his naps recently and he's the only one in his preschool class that doesn't sleep the afternoon nap anymore. Let me tell you, if I EVER found out that one of his teachers did something like this to force him to nap, I don't know what I would do (but I know it wouldn't be pretty)!

In the case of this California toddler, it seems, the teacher was also so stupid that after she used adhesive tape to tie up the little girl, she took a picture and shared it with her coworkers. Can you say dumb?
