During her interview with Diane Sawyer, Amanda Knox, the American college student studying abroad who served four years in an Italian prison for murdering her roommate, said that "everything she ever posted online, every boyfriend in her life, came back to haunt her." The stories she shared with "friends" on social media about her feeling "proud" about her one-night stands and marijuana "vice" further reinforced the images that the Italian press were creating, branding her a "seductress" and "a sexual thrill-seeker." She said that she wants "to be reconsidered as a person."

Regular exercise is good for everybody and the earlier you get into the habit, the better. That's why it's important to motivate your kids to stay active. The best way to do that? Sports!

Though most children may be able to get their endorphins by running around with their friends, getting them involved in a sport will do much more for them to keep them active. Teens seem to come up with more and more stupid things to do all the time. The latest craze? It's called the cinnamon challenge and it has taken up YouTube by storm. This stupid and very dangerous trend basically challenges teens to swallow a spoonful of ground cinnamon in 60 second without the help of water or any other liquid. Since the spice is caustic, it can cause choking, burning, throat irritation, trouble breathing and collapsed lungs.

Now, a new report published online by the journal Pediatrics is warning parents about the dangers of this retarded trend, after at least 30 teenagers nationwide required medical attention because of it last year.

What kind of demented person would have sex with two teenage boys while three other teens watch? Well, 42-year-old Jeanine Shimandle of Florida is accused of doing just that! The highly disturbed woman was recently taken into custody by the Sarosota County Sheriff office after witnesses reported the incident. This is the sickest thing I've ever heard!

Searching for a dress during prom season has always been stressful. But these days, the quest to find the perfect gown has gotten so competitive that some teen girls are actually taking to social media to threaten anyone who copies their particular style.

Seriously? I can't believe this actually a real trend now.

There's nothing more inspiring than seeing a troubled teen turn their life around. Brayan, a 17-year-old High School student (who has asked that his last name be withheld), made the transformation from a pre-teen gang member to a graduating senior with a 4.0 GPA and a goal to help lead his peers in the right direction. Isn't that amazing?

Or maybe they should ... I was checking out examples of why parents shouldn't text, which not only made me laugh my butt off, but also convinced me that these embarrassing texts by parents are exactly why parents SHOULD keep doing this. I mean, come on, my mother got to embarrass me in so many ways, why can't I do it to my own kids? She once wore a bathing suit to drop me off at school and then the car broke down. She stood in the middle of traffic surrounded by "good Samaritans" all of whom happened to be male and quite eager to help the swimsuit-clad damsel in distress.

I am never going to do that to my kids simply because I can't rock a bathing suit like my mother, but I can send them some mortifying texts! At 2 and 4, my kids are nowhere near cellphone age, but that doesn't mean I can't start thinking of the missives I'll be sending. Here's what I've come up with so far...

Call me old fashioned but I still believe that when you have sex for the first time, it should be with someone "special." I was raised by a traditional Latina who believed in abstinence until marriage.  She also discouraged my sister and me from using tampons and going to the gynecologist before marriage! Believe me, I don't expect my 17-year-old daughter to uphold these old fashioned values, but I'm having a hard time accepting casual sex as the norm for her.

Finally! After all the ridiculous punishments we have heard of over the past several months, I am SO relieved to hear of a case where one parent definitely got it right. In a local newspaper ad that has recently gone viral, a woman who refers to herself as "the meanest mother in Wyoming" proclaims she's selling her teenage son's car as punishment for driving drunk. 

And after reading the ad, I just have to take a minute to applaud her and say: that's not mean, that's smart.
