I've always believed that we humans aren't alone in this big, huge universe, and Chris Wedge, the director of new animated movie Epic (hitting theaters today), obviously agrees!
Epic tells the story of a tiny micro-universe in the forest ruled by the lovely Queen Tara (voiced by Beyonce), who is in charge of keeping their world in perfect balance. Of course, there are bad guys upsetting this natural balance, in this case, it's a group of malicious forces called Boggans that try to destroy the harmony of Queen Tara's kingdom.
But, there is one BIG surprise!
Stop the presses! Everyone's favorite Cuban heartthrob, William Levy, is about to become a major movie star. This week, it was announced that the former telenovela star just earned his first big role in an American feature film.
Ahh! Is anyone else as excited as I am? I feel like this has been this has been in the works ever since Levy made the entire planet fall in love with him on Dancing with the Stars.Continue Reading >
It's official: Finding Dory, the sequel to 2003's Oscar-winning animated flick Finding Nemo, will be coming to theaters near you in November 2015.
Ellen DeGeneres, the voice behind the lovable character of Dory, confirmed the news yesterday in a public statement, as well as on Instagram and Facebook. "I'm not mad it took this long. I know the people at Pixar were busy creating Toy Story 16," she joked.
YES! Okay, am I the only adult who is weirdly excited that this movie is finally happening for real? To be honest, I kinda don't care that I'm 23 years old and these films are clearly made for kids. Finding Nemo is one of my all-time favorite animated films and I've been eagerly waiting to see what would happen with the follow-up for what seems like forever!Continue Reading >
Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes are one of Hollywood's most discreet couples, but if there is one thing you should NEVER do, it's to piss the Latina's beau off. The couple was seen in New York City promoting their film The Place Beyond the Pines, when a fashion photographer who knew Mendes, saw her and affectionately shouted, "Hey Baby!" which infuriated Gosling.
According to Fox News, Gosling confronted the man ready to make a scene and Mendes had to cut in before things became violent. Sheesh, that doesn't sound like the Ryan Gosling all of us girls love and swoon over!Continue Reading >
Representatives for Janney "Chiquis" Marin, Jenni Rivera's oldest daughter, have been in conversations with producer Francisco Joel Mendoza, but the negotiations for Chiquis to play her mother in an upcoming film about the late Diva de la Banda are at a standstill after she completely rejected the idea of traveling to Mexico to film. Meanwhile, Jenni's sister, Rosie and brother Lupillo Rivera, have gone head to head with the media about how the project needs to be handled.
The Rivera family and Jenni, more than any other celebs, really have her fans and all of us used to airing their dirty laundry and disputes right out in public, on Twitter and social media many times. But I'm honestly reaching a point where I'm a bit embarrassed for them about all the back and forth surrounding this project. Why don't they all just agree on something and THEN tell her fans?
Jenni Rivera fans have already gotten a sneak peek at the late singer's leading role Filly Brown through the trailer, but now they can also hear her newly released song from the film's soundtrack.
Entitled "Hurts So Bad," the track is a duet between Rivera and Edward James Olmos, both of whom appear in the movie.
All 50 Shades of Grey fans have long been waiting to hear about the actors cast to play the virginal Anastasia Steele and overly sexual, hot Christian Grey in the film adaptation of E.L. James best-selling novel. So far, Mila Kunis addressed the rumors at a press conference for Oz: The Great and Powerful and said that she is NOT playing the role of Anastasia.
This means that it will be a great opportunity for other actresses to take on the role of Anastasia, and we've come up with a few good suggestions for the producers! Whether the actress is innocent-looking like Alexis Bledel or fierce, like Victoria Justice, who wouldn't think a Latina would be great as Christian Grey's lover?Continue Reading >
One of the celebs that we're most looking forward to seeing on the Red Carpet tonight is Sofia Vergara, but tonight, reports have surfaced that the Colombian Modern Family star has cancelled her Oscars appearance because she had to be hospitalized and will be undergoing surgery. Oh no!Continue Reading >
The Oscars are this weekend and this year, there are tons of amazing movies in the running for Best Picture. But while the nominees, including Django Unchained, Argo, Silver Linings Playbook and more, are all interesting, entertaining, and well-made, none of them could exactly be described as kid-friendly. Mom of two Maggie Storino took to her Tumblr "Don't Call Me Oscar" to change that.
Recruiting her two female toddlers and one of their little friends as models, Storino recreated the posters for each Best Picture movie starring the kids ... and the results are so hilariously adorable, they'll have you wishing there was an Oscar for Best Leading Babies. Check them out below:Continue Reading >
The 75th annual Academy Awards are taking place this Sunday and as a big movie buff, I'm really excited to see how it will all play out. Though I was slightly disappointed to see that there were barely any Latino celebs nominated this year, I'm still looking forward to seeing some of Hollywood's biggest stars come together and celebrate the amazing movies that have been released recently, including two of my favorites, Zero Dark Thirty and Silver Linings Playbook.
Plus, whether it's a daring fashion statement on the red carpet or a surprise win during the ceremony, the awards are always full of some unforgettable moments ... and hopefully, the same will be said after this year! Below, 5 things to look forward to at the 2013 Oscars:
