Tie-dye Easter eggs you can do with the kids! (VIDEO)

I have to tell you a secret that may get me banned from San Francisco, where I live.

Promise you won't tell anyone? OK, well, I am not a fan of tie-dye. There I said it. Oh, I feel so liberated. I've never really liked tie-dye on clothing, it's just too hippy-dippy for me, not my aesthetic at all. But, I just discovered that tie-dye looks delightful on, off all things, Easter eggs. Tie-dye Easter eggs are adorable and a great option for decorating eggs with the kids. Yay! Maybe I won't get banned from San Francisco after all, now that I've embraced tie-dye in at least one way.

It IS possible to celebrate Valentine's Day with a baby!

I have to say that I'm actually still a bit stumped as to how exactly we'll be celebrating Valentine's Day this year, our first year as a family of three. Traditionally, it hasn't been a huge deal for us, but we have made small gestures for each other throughout our relationship. I worked in flower shops for six years, so the holiday and the days leading up to it usually meant late nights and exhaustion. And now, my husband is away from home for job training the majority of the week, including the Thursday of Valentine's Day. One thing is for certain though, as with most celebrations that have occurred during this first year of our son's life, I'm betting whatever we do will be low key. Here are our (very limited) options:

Yes, you CAN (and should!) rock sparkly makeup this New Year's

Growing up, I used to love painting my eyelids with sparkly, glittery shadows. It always made me feel like a glamorous princess. But now as an adult, I know there's a fine line between the appropriate level of glitter and looking as sparkly as my Christmas tree. But what's the holiday season without a little sparkle? Well for starters, you want to make sure you stay away from any makeup that says, "glitter" on it, and go for shimmery, glowing products instead. With the right application, a sweep of sparkly eye shadow, lip gloss, or blush can really help build a festive and fashionable holiday look. Get your shimmer on with some of these fabulous makeup products!

Little boy breaks down into hysterical tears of joy over Christmas present! (VIDEO)

Between the crowded malls, the attempts to stay on budget, and all of the wrapping, gift giving during the holiday season can be very stressful. But it all becomes worth it to see the receiver's reaction when they open their present, right? Well, most of the time. Though some bratty kids aren't exactly thankful for their gifts, others--like the young boy in this video--are so supremely grateful, it makes you forget about the torture you went through to find the perfect present!

In fact, little Reese is so thrilled when he opens one of his gifts that he starts sobbing from pure joy! Aww!

Spoiled brats complain about Christmas gifts they received on Twitter

I've always been told that when you receive a gift, it's the thought that counts. So when I learned about these ungrateful kids complaining via Twitter about the gifts they received on Christmas, I was completely shocked!

And what is more alarming about their complaints is the fact that it wasn't one or two kids, it was a WHOLE slew of random children ranting via Twitter that the gifts they received sucked. I don't know about you, but I'd say using the chancla in these circumstances are acceptable…

5 Gifts moms DO NOT want for Christmas!

This Christmas I'm not expecting much in the way of gifts. After all, it's our first time celebrating the holiday as parents--and we are much more focused on introducing our son to the joys of Christmas than on filling our own stockings. Honestly, I'm sure I'll be thrilled with whatever I'm gifted, but there are actually quite a few "presents" I'd rather not be the recipient of.

For some moms, a not-so-great gift might be a new coffemaker or vacuum--and honestly I wouldn't particularly mind either of those. But the gifts I'm thinking of are actually even more likely to appear on Christmas day. Here are a few things I hope I don't get:

Watch these adorable kids give their take on Christmas! (EXCLUSIVE VIDEO)

Growing up, Christmas was my favorite holiday. Between the tree, the decorations, the presents, and the big party, I used to count down the days until we could celebrate. To this day, I still consider it one of the best times of the year--for many different reasons, but partly because of all the great memories I have of the holidays during my childhood. After all, doesn't everything seem more exciting when you're little?

That's why this week on MamásLatinas Knows Best, we decided to talk to young kids about their feelings on Christmas. We took to the streets of New York City and asked children and their parents about how they're celebrating this year and what this holiday seems to me. And as you can probably imagine, some of the answers were pretty hilarious!

Check out what they had to say in the video below:

5 Cheap & easy ways moms (or anyone!) can indulge this holiday season

It's December, and that means holiday mayhem has kicked into high gear. As I've mentioned before, I love this time of year, but that doesn't mean it isn't overwhelming. My calendar is jam-packed with parties, service opportunities and shopping trips, and like any new mom, I'm struggling to figure out how to make time for it all without disrupting our routine too much.

Admittedly, it can be stressful. But through it all, I'm trying to make sure I remember the spirit of the season. While I know, this time of year is all about giving, I also recognize that once in a while, we have to step back and treat ourselves in order to keep our moods lifted. Here are a few cheap and cheerful ways to do just that.

10 Holiday traditions to pass on to your kids! (PHOTOS)

Holiday season is my favorite time of the year! Not just because of the festive feeling in the air, but also because I get to spend so much time with my family.

From our huge Christmas Eve party that ends with us opening presents at midnight to our New Years Eve celebration when we all eat grapes during the countdown, it's always a great time partaking in these cultural traditions while being surrounded by all my relatives and closest family friends.  And I know when I have my own kids, I will be teaching them those same practices the way my parents did.

Since Christmas is just around the corner, here are a few other Latin American holiday traditions to pass on to your kids:
