A woman has been ordered to pay her former husband, $7,500 in compensation after he discovered that she had lied to him about her virginity. Wait … what? Catherine Kieu, 50, is on trial for allegedly cutting off her husband's penis and then grinding it up in the garbage disposal. Unbelievable! The Orange County, California woman reportedly had an argument with her husband at dinner so naturally she laced his tofu with Ambien, waited until he fell asleep, tied him to the bed, severed his penis with a 10-inch kitchen knife, and then ground up said penis in the garbage disposal.

There has got to be more to the story than that, right? I mean this kind of thing doesn't happen every day, I hope.

It's been a year since my best friend separated, after nearly 20 years of marriage. She married young and probably for the wrong reasons. They have three kids between the ages of 12 and 16.

Over the years, they'd grown apart, they fell out of love, there was no intimacy and they no longer shares common interests or goals. Their differences have become irreconcilable. Fighting rather than communicating dominates their relationship and they've lost respect for one another. Despite all of these signs that to me say "leave," for a year, my friend has been going back and forth trying to decide whether she should get a divorce or get back together. Although she says she loves him, she's obviously no longer in love.

Every girl dreams of the day she'll meet her prince charming, get married, and then live happily ever after. But New York Times personal health columnist Jane E. Brody says that this type of mentality in fact kills relationships. Instead the Times article suggests that infatuation and passion in a relationship are short lived and that many people forget that love consists of more than that.
