A fun Saturday afternoon turned into a horrific nightmare for a mother from South Sacramento, California and her three kids when a man  suddenly snatched the woman's 7-year-old daughter, threw her in his trunk, and then quickly drove away. Keep in mind this all happened during broad daylight. Isn't this the scariest thing ever? But the courage of this little girl will surprise you!

The prosecutor in charge of the Ariel Castro kidnapping case announced yesterday that he's going to be bringing homicide charges against the depraved Castro for each and every one of the babies that weren't born because of him. According to police reports, Michelle Knight miscarried about five times because of the beatings that she received from Castro's hands. According to an Ohio state law, a person charged with killing an unborn child could face murder charges, which could result in the death penalty for Castro.

Marlene Hodge, who is now 52 years old, was a boarding student at the New York School for the Deaf. When she was only 7 years old, Joe Casucci, who was the dorm father at the school, allegedly crawled into bed and molested her.

Child abuse is an ever growing and worrisome topic, which is why I was inspired by a new child abuse ad created by the Spanish international nonprofit Aid to Children & Adolescents at Risk (ANAR). You see, this isn't an ordinary ad because it contains a hidden message that only children of a certain height can see.

The non-profit teamed up with Spanish ad agency Grey Group Spain, and intends on creating awareness towards child abuse. It aims to impact this crime in a positive way. But what does the secret message aimed at children say?

In another case of bad parenting, a couple has been arrested for zip tying their 4-year-old daughter by her wrists and ankles to a baby gate. The parents in question are 26-year-old Gerald Thomas Swinehart and 28-year-old Marlaine Victoria Coffey of Raleigh, North Carolina, who were arrested and the child was taken away from their home.

In sickening news today, a Hartford, Connecticut bodega owner is being accused of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl.The bodega owner, 55-year-old Ruffino Fernandez and 29-year-old Wilenlia "Wendy" David are facing many charges of assault of a child.

David is accused of bringing a family friend's child to Fernandez's store and letting him sexually assault her in exchange for groceries and money. Police were notified after the girl's father was told last December of a video David possessed which showed his daughter being touched inappropriately by Fernandez.

Police in Chicago are asking the public for help as they investigate the death of a newborn baby boy abandoned at a recycling plant. An employee of the Resource Management Companies in Chicago Ridge discovered the body of the infant during a routine sorting operation.

He received the shock of a lifetime when he found the baby's dead body inside in a heavy red cooler on the conveyor belt before police were alerted.

A drunken deaf couple from Richardson, Texas was arrested after the dad smashed their 5-month-old daughter's head in because she wouldn't stop crying. The couple, who is unable to speak and hear, were bothered by the vibrations her cries were causing and reacted violently.

Police were alerted when the baby's parents, 37-year-old Maria Guadalupe Zuniga and 35-year-old Hector Rene Cupich-Quinones, rushed her to the hospital after finding that she couldn't breathe well. Paramedics became suspicious when they noticed bruises on the baby's chest, arms, back, and on her head before handing the case over to the cops.

A mom is serving time for forcing her 14-year-old daughter to become her surrogate mother, after she was told she could no longer adopt more children. This is honestly one of the most unthinkable forms of abuse I have ever heard about. The woman cannot be identified, nor can her daughter in this sensitive case, but she is being charged with a five year prison sentence after admitting to child cruelty.
