If you have teens, they're probably on their cell phones ALL.THE.TIME. But not because they're speaking to somebody, but rather because they're texting their lives away as if the world is coming to an end. Most probably, though, if you try to read what the heck they're so furiously texting you won't understand a word. And that's because kids today don't really use normal words to communicate, they use acronyms, symbols and abbreviations so they can text faster--and so you can't understand what they're saying. Well, you might be surprised to find out that many of these codes can get pretty sexual in nature.

For example, do you know what your daughter means if she texts the number 8 to her boyfriend?

Simple. The number 8 means oral sex.

Here's a list of the top 10 texting codes you SHOULD know:

  1. Banana=Penis
  2. ASLP=Age/Sex/Location/Picture
  3. DUM=Do You Masturbate?
  4. DUSL=Do You Scream Loud?
  5. GNOC=Get Naked On Cam
  6. FMLTWIA=F*** Me Like The Whore I Am
  7. IWSN=I Want Sex Now
  8. kitty=vagina
  9. IMEZRU=I Am Easy, Are You?
  10. GYPO=Get Your Pants Off

And check out this codes all of which are meant as warnings that you are around: CD9 and P911, PAL (Parents Are Listening), PAW (Parents Are Watching), PIR (Parents In Room), POS (Parent Over Shoulder), and MOS (Mom Over Shoulder).

I know a teen who just erased all her texts any time she texted.  She figured if there was nothing there for proof there was nothing her parents could accuse her of.  Try to pull a fast one and your parents will circumvent - my friend took away her daughters cell phone.  Hows that for secrets?

i work with teenagers and one girl told me that her mom is her best friend. she speaks openly about sex with her (how to not get pregnant, etc.) YET the student still tells her friends things she wants to do but doesn't want mom to know. this is a very good article but once you think you're a smart alec helicopter parent, you are fooling yourself. i overhear teenage boys and girls and they completely blow me away with how sneaky they are. i say just guide your kids. the rest is a gamble as to how things turn out. teens will take risks. that super high dose of estrogen and testosterone is something to behold after all.

WHAT??? When I was a teen I wont dare to texts something like that "FMLTWIA" "IMEZRU"!! This is sad to see what teens r doing and the saddest part is that the parents know half of what their doing (if even half)...

They wouldn't have a phone with txt or camera to begin with. What do you expect when you give the tools to do it with. Many cell carriers have blocks and restrictions, that could easily prevent all this. Just sayin'

My son thought he was slick by deleting his texts, gotta love hidden backups... My house, my phone, my rules. Break the rules, loose the ability to text and possibly the phone itself.

you can't control your kids you only hurt your relationship with them by doing so. Guide them, talk to them. Be open to anything they need to ask and talk about. Im a mother of a 21 yr old son and two teenage daughter's 15 & 16. I have to stress to all parents that you need to talk to your kids about sex... you can't keep them from doing it, all you can do is educate them This is your job as a parent. Freakin out over text messages come on i would rather have her at home texting than out god knows where drinking, using drugs having sex stealing this is the serious stuff. parents over react to the wrong stuff. if your kids are going to get in trouble for small things them let me tell you there going to do whatever they want cause figure there going to be in trouble over little and big stuff so minds well go big. im a pretty easy cool mom but i am in no way my daughters best friend, she has those at school im her mom and im here to teach her about life!!! and to love them of course

well some things never change. Banana for penis, kitty for vagina! I think that we have to try and trust our kids to some degree. I mean afterall we lived and learned through our teenage years. They need to also. We as parents need to teach them and preach them safe sex methods all we can do after that is hope and pray they got it.
