Just when I thought I had seen it all in what has turned out to be a crazy week in the world of parenting news, I find out about Mistie Atkinson and her disturbing ways. The 32-year-old mom has been charged with incest for allegedly having sex with her 16-year-old son. But wait, there's more. Not content with violating her son in the most despicable manner, Atkinson made videos that show her performing oral sex on the teen and sent him naked photos of herself, all of which police found on the boy's cell phone.
WTH? Can someone please tell me what is going on? How can this even be true?
Well, apparently it is and this is how it happened: Atkinson had been estranged from her son's life since he was a baby until last year when she decided to hunt him down on Facebook and start an affair with him earlier this year. The teen, who lives with his father who has full custody, was aware that she was his biological mother, according to the arrest affidavit.
Police figured out what was going on when they were serving a search warrant in Napa back in March and found Atkinson in a hotel room with her son. She was arrested and charged with incest, oral copulation with a minor, contact with a minor for sexual offense and sending sexually explicit images electronically. She has pleaded not guilty and faces up to five years in jail if convicted.
Atkinson is obviously sick in the head because otherwise there is absolutely no explanation on earth for what she has done to her offspring. I don't care if they were separated at birth. She knew the teen was her son and obviously went looking for him with the intention of doing this to him. I can't believe that only faces five years in jail if convicted. And then what? She gets to go free and do who knows what to someone else? I don't get it.
Oh, and for all of those who think the teen is as much to blame as she is, get a life and then try to remember what it's like to be 16. Yes, he must have known it was wrong, but he was obviously manipulated by this abhorrent human being.
I'm truly disgusted with the human race this week.

It is sickening enough when its a father who molests his daughter but for a mother to do this with her son is beyond repulsive. Somehow its just unbelievable...it goes against the most basic of maternal instincts and of human decency. This evil woman is insane or possessed...
