Have you recently broken up with a guy only to be shocked when his Facebook status changes back to "In a relationship" only days later? Well, don't get too jealous--it turns out his new girlfriend might not even really exist!

For only $20, a new Brazilian website, Namorofake.com.br, will create a fake girlfriend for snubbed males looking to make their exes jealous. They'll even go so far as to make up a profile for this supposed new lady of his and post the page on Facebook for the entire social media world to see! Wow, talk about weaving a tangled web.

And it's not all about making your ex green with envy. The fake girlfriend plot can also help give a "ladies man" reputation that some guys are apparently looking for.

Some might find it hard to believe that people would actually buy into this scheme, but the website is apparently working … well at least, according to the creator, Flavio Estevam. Though he didn't reveal any specific numbers, he recently told a local Brazilian TV channel that the site has already gotten a lot of traffic.

It's a pretty sad thought, but there probably are plenty of guys out there who would pay $20 for a girlfriend or, in this case, the appearance of one. Still, I can't help but wonder why. I mean, the forged profile only lasts a week--which means if you want to make it seem like your "relationship" lasts any longer than 7 days, you have to keep paying out of pocket. Wouldn't it be more worth it to put the money towards going somewhere where you could meet a REAL girl?

Also, how is this site even allowed to exist? It's one thing for individual people to make fake profiles, but for an entire website to be devoted to doing so seems like it could be crossing some legal lines. Then again, it would hardly be the worst fake identity prank to occur on Facebook.

In any case, ladies looking to seek their own revenge should get prepared as Estevam also revealed that he's planning on expanding the site so that it makes up boyfriends for women as well. Let the unnecessarily obsessive plotting begin!
