'50 Shades of Grey' divorce: Woman dumps hubby who refused to role play

The 50 Shades of Grey fad has influenced many women to take the literature to the bedroom, but not all them have had the same stroke of luck. A British woman tried to spice up her marriage by way of the erotic novel, but ended up suing her husband after he refused her advances to reenact scenes from the book.

The 41-year-old high powered banker believed her sex life was in a rut, so she took the book to be of some inspiration for the bedroom. According the New York Daily News, the woman felt unappreciated by her husband who no longer did anything to keep the romance alive in their relationship.

I can't say I blame this woman for wanting to fix the intimate aspect of her marriage. I mean, it sounds silly that she had to be influence by 50 Shades of Grey to do so, but at least she wanted to try. Her husband clearly had no intentions of even thinking of making an effort to bring the romance back!

According to the banker's attorney, Amanda Mcallister, this was the first time she had dealt with a divorce case that was tied to the erotic novel trilogy. Reportedly, the husband went ballistic when she suggested the kinky sex and blamed her for the demise of their marriage.

I'm a firm believer that in a marriage or a relationship, both parties should value each other's happiness. How else do you expect to make it through the rest of your lives together? Sure you start to get comfortable, but you should always keep in mind the importance the other person holds for you. This woman wasn't feeling appreciated or acknowledged by her husband who no longer remembered Valentine's Day or even paid her compliments!

I'd say she's doing the right thing proceeding through with the divorce--even if it took 50 Shades of Grey to get her to finally do that. At least she was smart enough to leave when she saw that there was nothing worth saving in her marriage.
