Sleeping with your baby could be a deadly mistake

A new study has revealed that sleeping in bed with your baby raises the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) significantly. Though in America pediatricians have long recommended that babies sleep on their backs in an empty crib, many parents still choose to co-sleep, especially in the early days when night wakings are frequent and everyone is exhausted. But the study suggests that even parents who co-sleep and take measures to lower the risk of SIDS such as breastfeeding and not smoking or drinking, are making an unsafe choice.

pregnant

There are plenty of reasons to have a baby, the most important being that you want to be a parent and provide a child with food, shelter and never ending unconditional love. It sounds like a big investment because it is. It is the hardest thing you will ever do, but it is also the most rewarding. I know, I've done it twice and I am a better person for having done so.

Some people don't want children and that is fine. Parenting is not for everyone. There is nothing wrong with knowing yourself well enough to know that perpetual self-sacrifice is not for you. Some people like their sleep, money and privacy. I can certainly understand that. Of all the things I've sacrificed, I miss my sleep the most.

An Australian dad recently set up a video camera in his house in hopes of capturing some paranormal activity--but what he found was actually much more disturbing. When he reviewed the footage, the father caught his 28-year-old partner making out with his 16-year-old son (her own stepson)!

Can you spend too much money on your kid's clothes? Um, YES!

Excuse me while I judge someone else's parenting. I know it's awful, but sometimes I start judging before I can stop myself. Finding out that 31-year-old model Vicky Antonia has spent over $30,000 on designer label clothing for her 8-year-old son made me judge her as a mother maybe just a teeny tiny bit. Vicky Antonia lives with her son Zak in Epping, Essex; they share the home with his Armani, D&G, Burberry, Ralph Lauren, Gucci, and Prada clothing and his over 200 pairs of  posh footwear.
