Just when you think you've seen everything, Spain has to go and up the crazy to levels I never could have even imagined.
You see, every year, Spaniards celebrate a special festival every year that involves grown men jumping over babies. Yup, you read that right. They put a bunch of babies on mattresses in the middle of the street and then some guy dressed as Satan jumps clear over their tiny infant bodies!
Apparently, the ritual is supposed to cleanse all the babies born in the last 12 months of original sin. Sounds totally insane, right? That's cause it it folks! I mean, you can tell just by looking at the photos that the babies are scared out of their minds and honestly, it's TERRIFYING to think of what might happen if someone was to, oh, I don't know--take a single misstep.
Shudder, just the thought gives me chills! I think I'll just stick to a regular, old baptism...

Well, I can't say that I see frigthened faces, I think they are too little to really realize what is going on. With that said, I will not do that to my child. I don't believe in the original sin any ways, so why do something so stupid.
Superstitions are for ppl to lazy to read the bible. It causes them to act irrational. Its a shame that ignorance is often passed down to the next generation who will do the same to their children...
Lmao, I don't think I would ever put myself in this position or don't think my hubby would ever let me get into this, but H*ll no I would never let no dare Devil jump over my babygirl!! Imagin a strong wind come and have him land on my kid lol I would kill him and never forgive myself for laying my child down to get jump over!!
