A 29-year-old mentally impaired woman claimed that three people kept her and her 5-year-old daughter captive in their Ohio home for more than two years. The woman who is being identified by the initials S.E. was invited to live with the trio when she met them; she was later subjected to abuse and inhuman conditions. Police were notified of the situation after they arrested the victim for trying to steal a candy bar and asked to be taken to jail because the three suspects "had been mean to her."Continue Reading >
It was a little over two weeks ago that Kathlynn Shepard, a 15-year-old Iowa girl, was reported missing after being lured with her 12-year-old friend, Dezi Hughes, into a truck by Michael Klunder, a registered sex offender. Dezi escaped shortly after they were taken to a hog confinement facility, but authorities from the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation fear Kathlynn's fate to be dramatically different as they recovered a body Friday night from the Des Moines River, a body they suspect is hers.
Efforts in the search for Kathlynn had gone for days and extended for over 220 square miles across three counties, and the end to this story is tragic and sad. My heart breaks as I think of what this girl must have gone through and how devastating this new development must be to her family and friends. Kathlynn never made it home.

According to a report detailing the events that led to the young girl's death, Dube told his brother he used the social media page to trick Cable into leaving her house while he waited in the woods wearing a ski mask. His idea was to fake-kidnap her and then "save" her ... but sadly, things didn't go according to plan.Continue Reading >
