Cleveland accused kidnapper Ariel Castro continues to make headlines as even more disturbing details are released about how savagely he treated the three women he held captive for more than a decade in his basement. An Australian teen with autism lost most of his fingers in a homemade bomb explosion that was reportedly all part of a vicious prank. Fifteen-year-old Michael Boggan was sitting with a group of other teens outside of a suburban home on Friday when one of them handed him what seemed to be a golf ball, but was actually a homemade bomb allegedly filled with ball bearings and white powder.

"All I remember is I was shaking (the ball) up a little bit and then boom. I couldn't see or hear," Boggan told Australia's Channel 10 news. Who does something like this? What is wrong with kids these days?

A Washington woman recently came to the rescue of her husband after an intruder broke into their home, just hours after she had finished celebrating her first ever Mother's Day!

Crossfit trainer Tennyson Jacobson and her husband, Kyle, went to check on their barking dogs at around 1:40 a.m. on Monday when they were confronted by a man in his 30's or 40's standing in the hallway. According to local authorities, the husband and the intruder began to fight--until Tennyson decided to step in and took action.

Mother's Day was ruined for spectators at a Mother's Day parade in New Orleans after a gunman opened fire leaving 19 people injured--including two 10-year-old children. Police have released an image of the man who started firing shots into the crowd through surveillance footage, but the biggest  issue they face is that the footage is grainy and makes him unidentifiable.

Authorities are hoping the public can recognize who the gunman is according to the video released.   

The prosecutor in charge of the Ariel Castro kidnapping case announced yesterday that he's going to be bringing homicide charges against the depraved Castro for each and every one of the babies that weren't born because of him. According to police reports, Michelle Knight miscarried about five times because of the beatings that she received from Castro's hands. According to an Ohio state law, a person charged with killing an unborn child could face murder charges, which could result in the death penalty for Castro.

A plastic surgeon in Miami has recently been arrested after he allegedly attacked his girlfriend by forcing her head into a toilet and stuffing a rag in her mouth--all because of something she had written on Facebook!

Paul Templer was a 27-year-old river guide in Zimbabwe when he was swallowed by a hippo. The hungry (hungry) hippo attack happened 17 years ago when Templer was leading a kayak tour down the Zambezi River and probably had more to do with the hippo being territorial than actually hungry. A recreational soccer game took a tragic turn when a teenage player punched a referee in the face after the ref issued the teen a yellow warning card ... and the referee tragically died. The incident occurred in Salt Lake City, Utah where 46-year-old Ricardo Portillo was refereeing a game in Taylorsville and had cited a player with a yellow card for a game violation.

This caused the 17-year-old to punch Portillo in the face which left him in critical condition after he suffered serious internal head injuries. Unfortunately, the referee didn't survive and passed away Saturday night.

A drunken deaf couple from Richardson, Texas was arrested after the dad smashed their 5-month-old daughter's head in because she wouldn't stop crying. The couple, who is unable to speak and hear, were bothered by the vibrations her cries were causing and reacted violently.

Police were alerted when the baby's parents, 37-year-old Maria Guadalupe Zuniga and 35-year-old Hector Rene Cupich-Quinones, rushed her to the hospital after finding that she couldn't breathe well. Paramedics became suspicious when they noticed bruises on the baby's chest, arms, back, and on her head before handing the case over to the cops.
