Bratty 10-year-old calls 911 to avoid bedtime! (AUDIO)
Every parent knows the importance of teaching your kids how to call 911 in the case of an emergency ... but it looks like 10-year-old Dan Davis could've used a refresher course on what "emergency" actually means. Earlier this week, the Massachussets boy called the police because he didn't want to go to bed!
On Wednesday night, Davis made the call, then--probably realizing that a disagreement over bedtime isn't exactly 911-worthy--quickly hung up. Unfortunately for him, the call had already connected. Following emergency protocol, the police returned the call--which was picked up by Davis' mom Shamayne Rosario!
Rosario explained the sitation, even asking Davis to come to the phone himself. "Dan, would you like to talk to the police?" she is heard saying in the recording of the call, "because you can't be calling 911 when there is no emergency." The operator then informed Rosario that they must follow policy and send a cop out to visit their home.
Jeez, what a dramatic ordeal--and all over something as silly as going to bed! I know it was just a stupid and (relatively) harmless little-kid mistakes, but the thing that bothers me is that Davis isn't that little of a kid. He's 10, old enough where a move like this is no longer cute or acceptable.
I'm glad that Rosario took the actions she did in this case and taught Davis his lesson. Between his grounding and the police coming to his door, I seriously doubt he will ever make the same mistake again!
