Horrible parents starved & killed 13-year-old son, kept him in dog cage

There are just some people that can be best described by the word evil. Take for instance 47-year-old Indiana woman Kimberly Leona Kubina, who was sentenced to 35 years in prison for allowing her 13-year-old stepson to be abused, starved to death, and caged by his father. The 47-year-old woman was charged with felony neglect after police found the body of Christian Choate buried in a shallow grave near a mobile home park in May 2011.

The New York Daily News reports that the father and Kubina's former husband, Riley Choate was the one who had buried the teen, but both he and Kubina deny causing Christian's death. He was sentenced to 80 years in jail for his role in the boy's death despite denying the allegations.

How utterly disgusting is that? These parents allegedly killed their son after abusing him for so long and didn't even give him a proper burial and on top of that tried denying that they caused his death! There are some sick and twisted people in this world and Choate and his ex wife both fall under this category.

According to reports, Kubina told the Superior court that she was remorseful and should have told police about her former husband's abusive behavior. Christian had been kept in a dog cage and Kubina admitted to having his sister only feed him Asian noodles. More shockingly though: more than 13 people knew of the treatment he was receiving in the home but no one reported it.

Kubina says the reason she never reported the abuse her former husband imposed on the boy is because she feared that her other children would be taken away.  On top of the awful behavior at home, she tried dismissing the idea that she had knowledge of his death and claimed that she thought he had gone off to see his biological mother.

It is seriously heartbreaking that this boy had to be abused at the hands of his monster father and stepmother and that all these people knew but no one did anything to help him! They should all be ashamed of themselves because by not reporting it, it implied that they approved of the treatment he was receiving. And if Christian was being treated this way, can you imagine how these parents treated the rest of their kids? I'm glad they are going to jail, but considering what awful people they are by denying that they caused his death, they should be locked up for the rest of their lives.
