Last week, a neighbor heard the blood-curdling screams of a man nearby, and immediately ran to see what had happened. What he found was probably a scene that this neighbor will never forget: The man was screaming because he had just accidentally run over his 10-month-old baby daughter in his own driveway, and all he could say was, "How did that happen, how did that happen," the neighbor told a local newspaper in Louisiana, where this horrible accident occurred.

Sadly, the baby died in the hospital ... and now, who knows how the dad is going to go on with his life after this awful tragedy.

According to the few details that are known in this case, the dad was fixing up his car in front of the house, when he went to get the family's dogs who had gotten loose somehow. While he went to get the dogs, the baby crawled out into the driveway of the house without his knowledge. When the dad returned, he decided to reverse the car back into the driveway without realizing that his baby daughter was right in the path of his car. Can you imagine the horror he must have felt when he realized what had just happened?

Besides leaving me dumbfounded, the first thing I thought when I found about about this awful tragedy was if I would ever be able to forgive my husband if he did something like this. I know it was an accident, but I have to admit, it would still be really hard for me to look him in the eye everyday after knowing that it was his fault that our baby wasn't with us anymore.

On the other hand, I'm sure that no matter how much psychological help this dad gets, I'm sure no one will be able to erase from his mind--or his heart--the guilt that he'll carry with him forever. I'm not sure how I would continue on with my life after a tragedy like this one. Honestly, I don't know if I would be able to.
