Man who tried to strangle his girlfriend with his dreadlocks is caught in a hairy situation

In one of the most bizarre and frightening cases of domestic violence I've read, a man in Oregon has been arrested and charged with trying to choke his girlfriend to death with his dreadlocks. That's right, according to Oregon police, 32-year-old Caleb Grotberg has been arrested because he abused his girlfriend in several ways, but the most peculiar way was when he tried to cut off her air supply with his matted ropes of hair.

The Huffington Post reports that Portland, Oregon, Police seargeant Pete Simpson says that the unidentified woman was taken to the hospital on Monday and treated for numerous non life-threatening injuries. Then, Caleb was arrested "for investigation of several domestic violence felony crimes, including strangulation, fourth-degree assault and second-degree kidnapping." YIKES!

Honestly, I find the whole choking with dreadlocks thing a bit silly. I mean, the image in my head is just so bizarre that I don't know what to do with it. However, this is obviously a very serious situation and I sincerely hope that the woman is recovering. The violence must have really escalated, since one of the things that Caleb was charged with included kidnapping and assault. Did he beat her? Refuse to let her leave? I don't know. The only thing that I do know is that he needs to be brought to justice so his ex-girlfriend can hopefully recover and move on.
