Brazilian teen selling virginity online to help her sick mami (VIDEO)

Although she's not exactly the first one to think of it (after another Brazilian girl auctioned off her virginity to help her hometown), 18-year-old Rebecca Bernardo is auctioning off her virginity to the highest bidder in order to help take care of her sick mother. Now, I don't know about you, but I think that's just about the sweetest thing that a kid can do to help her mami during her time of need. Sure, it may be unconventional, but at least it's something.

I haven't always been a big supporter of the whole sell-your-virginity thing, but I do think it's amazing that this girl is doing it in order to take care of her bed-ridden mother, who had a stroke earlier this year. According to BusinessInsider.com, it sounds like she doesn't really have many other options and that makes me really sad for her. However, I'm also really impressed by the high school student's proactive attitude. With her having never met her father and her sister passing away a few years ago, Rebecca has no other choice than to step up and be the one to take care of her mom.

Of course, her mom doesn't really approve of her plan (what mother would?!), but when the current highest bid is $35,000, I can understand why it's so much more tempting for Rebecca to go this route instead of just getting a job that won't pay nearly as much as quickly. Well, I wish her the best of luck and I hope (gulp) that she'll have a decent experience after selling herself to take care of her mom. And, of course, I hope her mom recovers quickly.
