Westboro Baptist church picket of Sage Stallone's funeral is disgusting

Ok, I have to admit that I haven't been following the drama surrounding the death of Sylvester Stallone's son, Sage, all that closely. He was around my age and it seemed sudden and sad and under shady circumstances and frankly, I just didn't want to read any more depressing stories.

So, when I woke up this morning, I was surprised to find myself sucked in the news about his funeral. The thing that caught my eye was that a church had actually decided to picket...yup, I said that a church, specifically Westboro Baptist has decided to picket the Sage Stallone's funeral. It is just as crazy as it sounds, right?

First of all, any sort of outfit calling itself "religious" in nature, you would think would have the kind of compassion and common sense to not desecrate the funeral. I mean, speaking ill of the dead is seriously objectionable, isn't it?

Second of all, I don't really care what kind of a lifestyle Sage lead, his family is mourning his loss and they don't deserve to be bombarded by a bunch of judgemental jerks waving around signs. Margie Phelps, daughter of the patriarch of the fundamentalist Westboro Baptist church Fred Phelps, even had the audacity to tweet condemming messages to Sylvester Stallone, condemming his lifestyle and his history of failed marriages.

Chance to redeem yourself with God. Tell @TheSlyStallone to mourn for his sins, not pimp out son's dead body to more proud sin!

What kind of a person says that right after someone's child has died? I have no idea what kind of values the Westboro Baptist church preaches, but if they think it's acceptable to use someone's death and funeral as a platform for politics and judgement, then they are most definitely not Christian.
