"It's like hell," my husband, a newsphotographer, told me yesterday as he was leaving Colorado Springs, the site of the Waldo Canyon wildfires that have been ravaging the state we live in for the past few days. Sadly, this is only one of seven different areas burning in Colorado, thanks to unseasonably hot weather, extreme dryness and unwelcomed wind, which have made containing the fires a lot harder than expected.
I'm in awe of the work our firefighters are doing and my heart breaks just thinking about the hundreds of people who've lost everything and the thousands that have been evacuated and stand to suffer the same losses. With no immediate end in sight, all we ask is for people to please pray for Colorado.
