I grew up in a beach town and spent my whole childhood outdoors, which is why I think there's still nothing I enjoy more than being in the sun! Harrowing suicide note explains why mom jumped 8 stories with her baby strapped to her

Cynthia Wachenheim--the Harlem mom who died after jumping from her eight-floor window, but whose baby miraculously survived--was convinced her infant son would be disabled for the rest of his life because she had failed to protect him. At least, according to the harrowing 13-page suicide note she left in which she attempted to explain her "evil" decision, as she called it. According to a law enforcement official who told The New York Times he had seen the note, Wachenheim made reference to "two shameful events" that caused her son, Keston Bacharach, to fall and hurt himself.

And although no one, not her friends, her family or her pediatrician, believed there was anything wrong with Keston, his mother says they were all wrong.

Surprise: Our daughters are pressured by friends (not TV or magazines) to be skinny

It turns out that all this blame we've placed on the media telling girls they need to be thinner is wrong. In fact, new research says we should be looking at our daughters friends because they may be influencing these body image problems.

These findings were discovered after 237 girls ages 10 through 17 were surveyed regarding their favorite TV shows, rating how they felt about their bodies, peer competition, and social media activity. They were asked the same questions 6 months later concluding that peer influence affected their self esteem a whole lot more than any celebrities they were exposed to.

Does this picture make you want to punch something? Or have you ever looked at a cute baby or puppy and said: "I just want to eat you up"?  It's a figure of expression we use when looking at something irresistibly adorable, and now science has found out just why we react the way we do!

I have a love/hate relationship with diet soda. I love it because I sometimes need the sweetness of a caffeine boost and I don't want the calories, but I hate it because I know that diet soda isn't much better for me than regular soda since even just drinking ONE diet soda a day can give you a higher risk of heart attack or stroke. Well, now it turns out that there's one other major side effect of saving your calories by drinking diet soda: a new study has found a link between drinking diet soda or diet fruit drinks and an increased risk of depression.

'Sesame Street' actually CAN make your kid a genius!

Since I was a kid I was never good at math, but I was better at being creative and writing. Now new research has shown that we may be on track to find out why some children learn easier with certain subjects than others.

The study was conducted on 27 children between the ages of 4 and 11 and also included 20 adults in watching the same Sesame Street video as they had their brains scanned with FMRI (Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging). After the viewing, the children and adults took a standardized IQ test to examine their verbal and mathematical abilities. The result was quite surprising….
