Continue Reading >
I've been obsessed with making slow cooker apple butter ever since I visited my first apple orchard last year. The secret that was kept from me, though, was that slow cooker pumpkin butter was even more heavenly than the apple version.
The thing I love about pumpkin butter is the thick, creamy texture that makes it a perfect spread. Now that Thanksgiving is officially upon us, I can't think of a better breakfast than having a little pumpkin butter on your morning toast with some scrambled eggs. I can't be the only one that thinks this sounds like a perfectly delicious dish, right? Well, I also admit that I absolutely LOVE to Latinize my homemade pumpkin butter. How, you ask?Continue Reading >
Thanksgiving is almost here and what better way to get in the spirit of things than by engaging in a little arts and crafts fun with your kids? I know one of my favorite parts of the holidays growing up was making holiday-themed decorations and covering my entire house with them (despite my mother's gentle suggestions that maybe we didn't need another paper snowflake).
So this week on MamásLatinas Knows Best, we decided to show you the perfect way to get creative with your kids: by making these adorable Thanksgiving finger puppets! As staff writer Irina Gonzalez exemplifies in the video below, they're super easy to make and very affordable--we got all of the necessary materials for under $20! Check out what you need and how to get started here:Continue Reading >
The holidays are coming and it's our first year in the new house. Our very own house! I can't wait to finally have a big holiday dinner here and invite all the family. All I've ever wanted was a beautiful kitchen to cook in and the perfect dinner table for my family to eat at. We looked around at so many places but nothing came close to what we found at IKEA. The perfect combination of functionality, affordability and style plus great quality--I've finally got the kitchen of my dreams! And I can rest assured since IKEA gives me a 25 year limited warranty.Continue Reading >
With Thanksgiving just a little over a week away, I'm in major house-decorating mode. One of the things I love best about the holidays is candles. You can't exactly decorate with candles in the summer, since it's WAY too hot to light them when the temperature outside is quite steamy, too. That's why the Fall is perfect: you can have candles everywhere, set a beautiful mood and even warm up a bit in the process.
Well, the only thing about decorating the house with candles is that it's a bit boring and predictable, isn't it? When I started to look for how to incorporate my love of candles into my love of Thanksgiving, I thought: why not make some candle decorations myself? The only problem is that I just don't have a lot of time to devote to this craft project. That's why these 5 super-easy Thanksgiving candle decorations (all made with foods you already have around the house) are simply perfect. Come on, do it yourself!Continue Reading >
