The minute that summer starts I start reading for a sangria. Is there really a better summer drink than the refreshing, fruity taste of a white or red wine sangria? I don't think there is. But lately I've been serving up basically the same old sangria that everyone else does: peaches or strawberries for white, oranges and cherries for red. It's a classic for a reason, but this year I want to try something else. That's why this Memorial Day Weekend I'm making these three delicious versions: tropical pineapple mango sangria, sparkling pink grapefruit sangria and spicy red sangria. They're just as satisfying as the original, but made even better.

Tropical Pineapple Mango Sangria (recipe courtesy of Raley's)
Ingredients:
1 cup pineapple juice
1/2 cup lime juice
1 (11.5-oz.) can mango nectar
1/3 cup sugar
1 (750-ml.) bottle fruity white wine
1 1/2 cups lime flavored sparkling water or Champagne
Lime slices, peeled pineapple and mango slices
Directions:
Stir together juices, liqueur and sugar until sugar has dissolved. Place all ingredients, except sparkling water or Champagne, in pitcher or jug and chill until ready to serve. Just before serving, add sparkling water or Champagne. Pour over ice-filled glasses and garnish with fruit slices.
1 cup pink grapefruit juice
Combine the wine, grapefruit juice, pineapple juice, peaches, blueberries and strawberries in a punchbowl, or a large sized pitcher. Refrigerate overnight. Right before serving, add the sparkling soda and stir to combine.
1 Bottle of red wine (consider a Malbec from Argentina to fit the spicy palate theme well!)
1 chili pepper or jalapeno (seeds removed and diced)
1 Lime cut into wedges
1 Lemon cut into wedges
1 Orange cut into wedges
1 Mango diced into cubes
1/2 cup honey or sugar
2 tsp. Cholula hot sauce
1 Shot of Rum
2 cups of Citrus flavored cola, (for those who prefer a little less sweet use a bottle of club soda)
