Angelina Jolie is known for not holding back when it comes to voicing her opinions, but her latest reveal may be the most shocking of all. In an extremely personal New York Times op-ed out today, the Oscar-winning mother of six confessed that she recently underwent a preventive double mastectomy after doctors told she carried the "faulty gene" BRCA1 and had an 87 percent risk of contracting breast cancer.

Jolie, who lost her own mother to cancer, says she made the drastic decision for the sake of her family and in an effort to "be proactive and to minimize the risk" as much as possible.

Wow ... what an amazingly brave choice on her part!

It looks like not even the biggest celebs out there are immune from bullying: Oscar-winner Jennifer Lawrence recently opened up to The Sun about her experiences with bullies when she was growing up. The 22-year-old remembers having to switch schools all the time because she was constantly picked on. In true J.Law fashion, she overcame her fear of bullies and told the publication: "Don't worry about the bitches. That could be a good motto, because you come across people like that throughout your life."
