Jennifer Lopez relationship apparently made Ben Affleck feel like "caged hamster"

Jennifer Lopez is one of the biggest, most famous stars in Hollywood, so it's safe to assume that whatever man she has by her side has some serious expectations on him. And sometimes, playing the role of her beau can be stressful and demanding, as her former fiancé, Ben Affleck has recently been saying. The Puerto Rican diva and actor had a hot romance from 2002 to 2004 (remember "Bennifer"?). Now, almost a decade later, Affleck is speaking out on what it was like to be Jenny from the Block's significant other.

Affleck explained to British newspaper The Sun, how he got caught up in the glitz and the glamour of Hollywood, which was a different world for him. What stood out though was that he said that during his high-profile relationship with Lopez, he felt like he was on a "hamster wheel." Uh, what exactly did he mean by that?

I've been a Ben Affleck fan since his Good Will Hunting days and I'll admit I found his relationship with Jennifer Lopez to be a bit--for lack of a better word--unconventional. He came off as a simple guy from Boston starting out in the acting world compared to Lopez who was at the peak of her stardom. He clearly didn't see the pressure of Hollywood until he started dating J.Lo and got caught up in the lifestyle that came with her status.

Affleck tells The Sun how he was feeling suffocated and miserable during their relationship and like he was losing his way. He explains: "I had to confront my own problems and ambitions at a time I was in the media spotlight. It was as if I was on a hamster wheel in a cage. The faster I moved around the cage, the faster I was expected to go." He was 25 years old at the time and like most males in their 20s, he struggled to figure out what he wanted to do with his life.

Having finally rearranged his life after their break up, and eventually settling down, Affleck realized that he wanted his life to be smaller than it had been while dating Lopez. Ouch! We wonder if the Latina star is in any way offended by her ex beau's comment?

Sure, Lopez's lifestyle doesn't fit just anyone, and maybe Ben couldn't handle the spotlight with the grace and style that she does. She's long moved on since Affleck and things seem to be going well with her current boy toy, Casper Smart. Who knows, maybe Smart can handle the Hollywood pressure and holds the key to a long lasting and stable relationship that Affleck couldn't give Lopez. At least she and Ben seem to be in happy places respectively now and are on friendly terms. But we're not sure what turn that could take after his latest remarks.
