Between her music, her movie roles, and her gig as a producer for an upcoming TV show, Jennifer Lopez already has a jam-packed schedule. But could the star now have another career defining project in the works?
Rumor has it that Lopez is seeking to develop a biopic revolving around the life of the late singer, Jenni Rivera!
According to several reports, Lopez is looking to buy the rights to the film so that it could move forward through her company, Nuyorican Productions. She has reportedly even reached out to Rivera's sister, Rosie, whom Rivera left in charge of her children and estate.
So will fans soon get to see Lopez take on the role of Rivera? Well, maybe not. Lopez's publicist told NBC Latino that the reports are not true and that the star has no involvement with any projects tied to Rivera.

Hmm ... regardless of what the publicist said, I actually think this could be a great idea. After all, Lopez has experience portraying a beloved singer. Her role in Selena not only made her a household name, but is also still one of the most significant endeavors of her career.
Plus, as Lopez herself has pointed out before, there are marked similarities between the two that made her relate to Rivera--such as both of them being moms and businesswomen with multi-faceted empires. Those connections could be helpful if Lopez was to portray her on screen.
Still, as much as I think Lopez could do a fantastic job spearheading this project, I do feel like it's kind of soon to be thinking about a movie. Then again, according to Lopez's publicist, this doesn't seem to be happening anytime soon. Guess we'll have to wait to find out!
