Evelyn Lozada is smart to keep her divorce private

Reality star Evelyn Lozada is laying low after an ugly domestic violence incident led her to file for divorce from husband, Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson. In the wake of the scandal, Lozada--who is not typically known for shying away from the spotlight--has reportedly cancelled all of her scheduled public appearances…and I can't say I blame her!

The Basketball Wives star was on the second half of her book tour and also had several club appearances lined up for the upcoming weeks that have all now been called off.  So why is Lozada, who has made her fame opening her life to cameras, showing a sudden need for privacy? Apparently, she is just not ready to answer questions surrounding the alleged attack from her soon-to-be ex-husband (reports say Johnson head-butted her during an argument) or about her looming divorce).

Personally, I think it's smart that Lozada is finally taking some time for herself. She has been putting herself in the public eye for so long and has garnered a ton of both positive and negative attention from the press but in this case, I think privacy is essential. Obviously, this an extremely difficult time in her life and she needs to be able to work through it on her own. I think taking a little time off to spend with her daughter and other loves ones will be exactly what she needs to help her enter the next phase of her life and career.

Besides, I think the last thing the world needs is another Kim Kardashian figure, exploiting her short-lived marriage to the world.
