Save or splurge? Deep conditioners for curls

Being a curly haired chica, I definitely know how it feels to struggle with dryness. When it comes to getting healthy curls, hydration is always key. But the truth is not all conditioners leave my curls moisturized, bouncy, and defined. In fact, a lot of them leave them smooth but weighed down.

I tested out two sulfate-free conditioners (because they say sulfate wreaks havoc on curls): L'Oréal Paris EverCurl Hydracharge Conditioner ($8) against DevaCare One Conditioner ($19). Color-treatments can wreak havoc on your hair if you're not careful, especially on curls which tend to be more prone to dryness. But don't' stress, Ouidad's Creative Color Director, Ian Dorey offered me a few tips on how you can keep your dyed locks looking healthier and shiner than ever. Check out a few tips below!

Easy summer 'dos: Get a braided headband in 5 easy steps!

I feel like I'm always looking for fun, new ways to wear my hair only to wind up falling back on the same one or two go-to looks. In my case, my hair is always worn down, either straight or curly, and parted to the side. Boring! But now that we're in the middle of spring and with summer on its way, I'm definitely looking to finally shake things up. So I thought I'd finally cough up the courage to try that gorgeous braided headband updo Zoe Saldana wore at the 2010 Glamour Women of The Year Awards, that's still totally in style by the way.

What I love the most about this vintage-inspired milkmaid braid is that it works on almost all hair textures--straight, wavy, or curly. Zoe chose to blow out her strands straight to give the look more of a polished look, but if you're going for something easy and care-free, it would look just as stylish with waves or curls. Check out a few of my tips below to help you replicate this super cool braided hairstyle!
